Synthesising and sharing insights

Purpose & Strategic Importance

As the process continues, the coordination team will gather information from many sources — public reports, internal records, consultations, and scenario discussions — to help answer the National Society’s key strategic questions.

Enabling Resources

The role of the coordination team
One of the team’s main responsibilities is to summarise data clearly so the National Society has a useful overview to guide decisions. The coordination team ensures that findings are organised, accessible, and ready to be used in discussions with governance, branches, staff, and partners.

Activities & Decisions

Formats for presenting data
Summaries can take different forms depending on the audience and purpose:

  • Short written documents.
  • Presentations at governance or staff meetings.
  • Short videos (for example, YouTube) to make findings more accessible.

Sharing back with contributors
It is good practice to share summaries with those who contributed data or input. Doing so:

  • Builds transparency and accountability.
  • Encourages further reflection and comments.
  • Helps avoid a situation where contributors do not understand why certain decisions were made when the strategy is finalised.

Implementation Notes

Using Artificial Intelligence to collect and synthesise data
Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) mean that tasks previously done manually can now be supported by AI tools. Examples include:

  • Collecting background data on a specific theme.
  • Synthesising a range of data into a short summary document.

Anything AI-generated must always be checked by a human to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with Red Cross Red Crescent values. But AI is likely to become an increasingly relevant support in strategic planning processes.
